This is totally OT, and I'm totally pissed.

Very simple concept....let your customers know when you're going to have scheduled downtime of the internet service. Nope, they can't manage to do it & it cost me $200+ tonight (mid game poker).

I'm going to Qwest TV & internet after this bullshit....and I'll make damn sure that the Board of Directors finds out why (easy to do when you know a lot of people in the investment industry).

:finger: Never again, assholes!!!

were you in a tournament or somethin? Can't see how this could otherwise cost you any money other than aggravation.

sorry to hear that, sounds like they owe you some money. At least free service for the cost of your lost funds.

Bullshit....when the circuit drops at midnight on the nose, they knew that they were going to be doing something. It's real easy to email the client base with an FYI, but it's bad for Biz...they just hope that no one notices anything.

This will cost them 1000x more than it cost me, trust me :suomi: . The poor CS rep told me that this had been planned since 7/22.....all I could say was "it's not your fault & I better hang up now".

You should also request a credit for the day on your next bill. If you raise a fuss they might credit you more.

Comcast is dogshit.

Their cable boxes always go bad, when I moved a couple months ago, the installer brought 5 boxes into the house, I needed 3. I asked what is with the extra boxes? Guy says honestly these boxes are pieces of shit, I am sure when I hook these up 2 of them wont work. Sure enough 2 bad boxes in the batch.

Week later had to get them back out here to swap out a new box since one of the 3 already went bad.

They also just didn't resign the main Fox Sports channel, not that I watched it that often but still did occasionally and would be nice to have.

They will credit you for a day of outage. $2 isn't the same as losing out on $200 in a poker tournament.

Junk equipment is one thing....unannounced scheduled downtime is something else. They KNEW that it was going down, and exactly when it would....yet they told no one.

I hope this shithole company becomes the next Enron.

Yeah that shit happens to me also. I talked to the CS guy and he
told me there was no way to notify customers. I thought it was
a pretty good explanation. Still BS tho IMO.

I switched to Verizon DSL because ComCast internet service was so unreliable. You don't know from one day to the next whether it's on or off. I'd call CS and they'd schedule a guy to come out the following week. Then he'd say nothing's wrong, and the cycle continued. Sometimes, I'd lose service for 4 days, and all of a sudden it came back. Even if it was due to growth in their business, the way they carried on and doing it at the cost of your loyal customers, switching on/off at their pleasure, was very unprofessional.

Went on for a year and as soon as Verizon offered DSL in my area, I jumped in a heart beat.

I'm considering Dish Network next. Fvck Comcast.

Never noticed any downtime with DSL since.

What if you were in the middle of some large poker game, and had a ton of $$$ on the table, is that all lost? Is that how it works?
